I love leather bicycle saddles

I would like to say after riding a few months on 2 different brands of leather saddles, I am hooked. To me they are the perfect saddle to hop on and just start mashing the pedals, ideal for commuting,touring,long hauls and overall quick short rides for fun. Leather saddles are comfy but they do weight a bit more then conventional bicycle saddles so if your bike is on a diet then I do not recommend this type of saddle. I personally own 4 leather saddles a Brooks Professional,Brook B72,Cardiff Cornwall,Lycett L'Avenir(French made) and I am willing to collect more.

I had a very busy and hectic bicycle season so now with some more free time I can hopefully strap up and blade.Here is a pic of my latest project which is a custom Bianchi Trofeo, I powdercoated the frame and built it from there.

I haven't made a post in a while, but I still check the site out like every other week. I was diggin the Slice edit, and I was inspired to make a solo BSCC Shanghai edit. However, my bike got stolen and shortly after I broke my ankle so I never finished this edit, and to top things off the hard drive on my computer died and I lost most of my data. Luckily I retrieved a good chunk of the data from the hard drive, and I found this today while sifting through my old stuff. I've been sitting on this footage for almost half a year now, and since the bike is gone and I'm no longer skating carbons; I figured I should share what I did have, cuz this would've been a fun little edit :)

There will be a skate rail on the side of this path.

That rectangular space to the left of the curved angle iron ledge will soon have a skate-able bench.

In between, they plan to squeeze a "Pier 7" pad and skate-able steps.

The kink roll will have a kink rail soon and there will be "skate-able seating" after, followed by a totem pole.

The curved skate rail is flat/square.

This playground section will have a curved metal bench that may be skate-able.

R.I.P Fixie

Two weeks ago I had a minor issue with my fixed gear bicycle while cruising around 20mph. My headset became loose which gave some play in the fork. This happened so quick, I had to ditch the bike as fast as possible. As the bicycle jerked away from me I jumped off and watched the bike fly into a huge curb then flip into a fence. A few days ago I decided to check out the damage and after seeing the powder-coat finish crack on the top tube I was very concerned. After disassembling the headset, the fork, and the handlebars I found that the steerer tube of the fork was bent and bent bad. My other concern is the front end since the fork absorbed the impact, the front end of the frame could be tweaked and never ride properly again. So at this moment I am going to retire this fixed gear bicycle until further notice. It was a great 3 years of riding.

This time of year skating outdoors ruins bearings I found a great alternative to bearing cleaners. I started using a variety of bike chain lubes that are designed for ultimate outdoor chain protection and found Rock N Roll to be the best so far. A drop or so in each bearing will do the job. This stuff can be found in most local bicycle shops for under $10.

"It needs to be the people's park. It's got to be authentic. None of that pre-fab stuff that nobody ever wants to skate on. This is your chance to build your own park. You tell them what you want (within reason) and more importantly - what you don't want, and they'll incorporate the skating/biking/hip-hop community's ideas into the design."

Carlson Fields Skatepark, Hingham, MA

On 8/12/10, the Hingham, MA Department of Public Works (DPW) had a meeting to discuss the conceptual design of the skatepark (size, features) and to get community input before the final iteration. Prior to this meeting, a small working group which consisted of skaters, the chairman Bob Garrity and Roger Fernandes got together with the landscape designer, Mike Macintyre, of advanced skate development. ASD (http://www.actionsportdesign.com) was selected to design the park. The street area should be done by Thanksgiving and then construction of the bowl begins.
